Fuel storage tanks blamed for water contamination

ABC News reports:

The New South Wales Department of Environment and Climate Change says groundwater in Scone has been contaminated by fuel storage tanks at a local service station.

The Shell service station in Kelly Street has joined the former BP fuel depot in nearby Guernsey Street on the Government's register of contaminated sites...

Well... right there in Bird Brain's backyard in Scone, contamination from fuel storage tanks after Sydney Gas (and I believe it was Mark "Fart Joke" Harper that said it) used the petrol station in Broke as an example of how safe METHANE GAS is.

Let's hope that's the only irony here and that no-one is killed or injured by the "(NSW Labor Party Contributors) Sydney Gas"/AGL Energy/AJ Lucas activities in Broke.

AGL Must Sack these amateurs NOW

Following in the footsteps of Mark "Fart Joke" Harper, Colin Stace has belittled the Broke and wider Wollombi Valley Community with a flippant and apparently funny (to him) remark, allegedly saying "I'm The Enemy" (twice - in case no-one heard him - in front on an NBN TV crew) while overseeing the environmental and economic destruction of a beautiful and vibrant rural village in the Hunter Valley.

See the story here

AGL Energy (ASX:AJK), you bought up all the (NSW Labor Party contributor) Sydney Gas shares, apparently to put an end to the (cowboy) antics of SGL staff like Colin "I'm the Enemy" Stace and Mark "Fart Joke" Harper and erase the history of this ship of fools.

AGL Energy's reputation is now at stake from their actions, and absolutely nothing has changed - including legal intimidation by Sydney Gas and/or their staff as reported by Ray Martin on A Current Affair.

It's all a big joke to the staff of Sydney Gas. Screw the community and get some laughs out of doing it. Very funny indeed.

Sack them all NOW AGL!

A blast from the past...

In 2001, Russ Weakly made a couple of flash games regarding the John Howard Government's GST and their lack of respect/action on the Stolen Children, and together we published them under the name webwank.net... which drew legal threats from then Senator John (not at all sorry) Herron (Minister for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Affairs) which lead to a frenzy of media at the time:

This is to formally let you know that I am instituting proceedings against you for defamation in the Supreme Court of Queensland . The Federal Police will be involved to track this website if I do not receive a response within 24 hours.

John Herron Minister for A.T.S.I. Affairs

While I have never been a great fan of the Pandora Archive at the National Library, it seems to have worked this time in accurately storing this piece of web history on a (then Liberal) Government web server - democracy in action. Thanks to the National Library, you can still steal all ten virtual Herron kids or lob a virtual tampon at little Johnny.

See the John Howard Shooting Gallery or the John Herron Stolen Children game or the remaining available media coverage from Electronic Frontiers Australia, ZDNet and AWN. Shame that the other media has disappeared :)

Foggy Mountain Jam - Jamtastic!

Foggy Mountain Jam was a huge success, packed with kids and great music.

The wines from Hope Estate were great, the food (with proceeds to Laguna Public School) was great and the music was jamtastic!

A highlight for me was Kasey singing a personal favourite and relatively unknown song (here anyway) - Bonnie Raitt and John Pine's "Angel From Montgomery" - I'll bet that isn't in the regular repertoire again, along with some other "farm songs" from the Chambers' family.

Add to that the classic, individual vocal power of Kasey Chambers, dad Bill's incredibly versatile string work on many instruments, Troy Cassar-Daley and Shane Howard's intricate guitar, vocals and melodies, Jim Moginie doing some lovely work (including Beds are Burning) and Shane Nicholson (alone and with with Kasey) is always magic.

The sound mix was perfect both from from the back of the crowd and from the "Oshkosh B'gosh" pit in front of the stage (many many kids)...

See the photo gallery for some photos from the evening...

Thanks so much to Veronica and Nash Chambers for allowing us onto their place for this event and to everyone else involved.
